Kopano is an ISAB and ISASA member school that was established in 1972 in the mining town of Selebi-Phikwe. Originally intended for education for the children of BCL Mine employees, Kopano became an independent private school in 2002.
At Kopano School we are dedicated to achieving excellence within a nurturing environment. We focus on the holistic development of each student, fostering their academic, physical, social and mental growth to reach their full potential. Our educators are committed to instilling initiative, self-discipline and essential life skills, equipping individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
Kopano is perhaps best-known because of its enduring history of innovation in education. Even die-hard Kopano alumni are not likely to know all of these Kopano firsts and historical snippets.
